What this report calculates
The 2026 Forecast Report takes your birth date, time, and place as inputs and runs three parallel analyses. First, it computes your Vimshottari Dasha sequence from your natal Moon Nakshatra, identifying which Mahadasha and Antardasha are active in each month of 2026. Second, it calculates exact sidereal positions of Jupiter, Saturn, Rahu, and Ketu for every month and maps their transit houses relative to your natal Rashi (Moon sign) and Lagna. Third, it cross-references the Dasha planet's house lordship against the transit pattern to produce a month-by-month forecast across career, finance, relationships, and health. The Dasha sets the background theme, the transit refines the monthly timing, and the natal chart quality of the Dasha lord determines how the combination plays out for your specific chart.
Classical foundation
Annual forecasting in Jyotish draws on two classical frameworks. The Vimshottari Dasha system, codified in the Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra (BPHS), provides the primary timing layer: each planetary period activates the natal promises of that planet and the houses it rules. The Gochar (transit) system, also described in BPHS and in the Saravali, overlays current planetary positions against the natal Moon. Classical texts describe specific transit results for each planet in each house from the Moon — for example, Jupiter transiting the 5th, 7th, 9th, or 11th from the natal Moon is generally considered auspicious, while Saturn in the 12th, 1st, or 2nd creates the Sade Sati period. This report applies both frameworks to 2026 with your specific natal data.
How to interpret your result
The report is organized month by month. Each month section shows the active Dasha-Antardasha, the dominant transit theme, and a domain-specific forecast. Read the Dasha section first — it tells you the overarching energy of the period. A Jupiter Mahadasha with Mercury Antardasha signals an intellectually productive phase; the transit details then show which months within that period are strongest for action vs consolidation.
The career section identifies months when the 10th house receives favorable activation. The finance section flags months when the 2nd and 11th houses are transit-supported for accumulation. Where the Dasha and transit disagree, the report explains the tension and recommends whether to push forward or exercise caution during that specific window.
When to use this
Order this report at the start of 2026 to map the year before major commitments are made. It is especially valuable when you are entering or exiting a Mahadasha. Transit positions are calculated in the sidereal frame for each calendar month, not approximated. The interpretive rules follow Parashari classical principles.
