What this report calculates
The Marriage and Relationship Report analyzes the marriage indicators in your Vedic birth chart across three chart layers. In the birth chart (D1), it examines the 7th house (Kalatra Bhava) — the house of marriage and partnerships — identifying its sign, ruling planet, and any planets placed there or aspecting it. Venus (natural significator of relationships and marriage) and Jupiter (for female charts, the significator of the husband) are assessed for dignity and house placement. The report identifies whether Manglik Dosha (Mars placed in the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 7th, 8th, or 12th house) is present and evaluates its strength and any available cancellations.
The Navamsha (D9) divisional chart is computed from your exact birth planetary longitudes — it is the primary divisional chart for marriage and relationships in the Parashari tradition, revealing the deeper quality and character of marriage relationships beyond what the birth chart shows. The D9 Lagna, 7th house in D9, and Venus in D9 are evaluated for marriage quality indicators.
For compatibility analysis, the report calculates Ashtakoot Guna Milan from both birth charts — the eight-dimension compatibility scoring system that evaluates Nakshatra-based compatibility across Varna, Vashya, Tara, Yoni, Graha Maitri, Gana, Bhakuta, and Nadi. The Vimshottari Dasha timeline is then mapped to identify marriage-favorable periods in the next 5 to 10 years.
Classical foundation
The 7th house as Kalatra Bhava (house of spouse) is established in the Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra (BPHS), which provides detailed results for each planet placed in or ruling the 7th house. Venus as the natural significator of marriage (Karaka for relationships) is documented across BPHS, the Saravali, and the Phaladeepika. The Navamsha divisional chart's role in marriage analysis is described in BPHS and is the basis for the saying among classical astrologers that the D9 reveals the "inner nature" of what the birth chart promises. Ashtakoot Guna Milan is documented in Muhurta Chintamani and other classical muhurta texts as the standard framework for marriage compatibility assessment.
How to interpret your result
The report opens with the 7th house analysis: the sign on the 7th house cusp, the condition of its ruling planet, and any planets placed in or directly aspecting the 7th. A strong 7th lord in an angular house (1st, 4th, 7th, 10th) in its own sign or exaltation indicates a chart that strongly supports stable long-term partnership. A weak 7th lord in the 6th, 8th, or 12th house signals challenges to relationship continuity.
The Navamsha section shows whether the birth chart's marriage indicators are confirmed or modified in the D9. A planet that appears weak in the D1 but is in its own sign or exaltation in D9 is considered strengthened for relationship matters (Pushkara Navamsha). Conversely, a planet strong in D1 but debilitated in D9 may not deliver its full promise in marriage specifically.
The compatibility score section (if a second birth chart is provided) presents the Ashtakoot calculation with each Koota's score and its significance. Scores are context-dependent: a low Nadi score with a high total may be manageable; a low Gana score with fundamental temperament mismatch carries more weight. The report explains which Koota exceptions apply and which cannot be overridden.
When to use this
Order this report before evaluating a marriage proposal, when you are approaching marriage age and want to understand your timing windows, or when a relationship is experiencing difficulty and you want to understand the astrological context. It is particularly useful during the Mahadasha of the 7th lord or Venus — these periods are the primary activation windows for relationship events. Use the compatibility analysis before making final decisions; the report identifies both strengths to build on and friction points to address proactively.
Methodology and accuracy
All planetary positions use Swiss Ephemeris-grade astronomical data with Lahiri ayanamsa correction. The Navamsha chart is computed from exact planetary longitudes — not approximated from sign boundaries. Ashtakoot Guna Milan is calculated from the precise Nakshatra and Pada (quarter) of each Moon, not from Rashi alone. Manglik Dosha assessment checks all six house placements of Mars and applies classical cancellation rules systematically. Shadbala (six-fold planetary strength) is assessed for Venus and the 7th lord. Dasha timing uses the Moon's precise Nakshatra degree at birth. Most competing marriage tools use Rashi-based Moon sign matching alone; this report calculates Nakshatra-level Ashtakoot plus full D9 analysis as standard.
