What is Mangal Dosh?
Mangal Dosh, also known as Manglik Dosha or Kuja Dosha, is one of the most significant doshas in Vedic astrology, particularly when it comes to marriage compatibility. It occurs when the planet Mars (Mangal) is placed in the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 7th, 8th, or 12th house from the Ascendant, Moon, or Venus in a person's birth chart. A person with this placement is called a “Manglik.”
According to traditional Vedic astrology, Mangal Dosh can cause delays in marriage, disharmony between partners, and challenges in married life. The severity of the dosha depends on which house Mars occupies, its aspects, conjunctions with other planets, and any cancellation factors (Mangal Dosh Nivaran) present in the chart.
